Suffer Club – Workout #40

You can tell when the weather is perfect because the Suffer Clubbers ask a lot of the same questions over and over. They’re not dancing around trying to stay warm or squinting against the sun. The weather is nice. They can’t pay attention to what I’m saying.

A pinball workout is sorta perfect for this kind of weather, because it doesn’t require counting reps, unless you’re on the one counter exercise. That made today really chatty. Lots of laughing. Complaining. Etc. It was a good day.

Here’s how the pinball works. The first exercise is the counter for everyone else. So you assign one exercise from the list to each person in your group, then you erase whatever you don’t need. You work with the same number of exercises as you have people.

The first person does their 10 burpees then tags the person doing wall climbs, who tags the person doing suspended tucks, who tags the kettlebell swinger, etc., etc.. Each person pinballs through until the last person becomes the burpee doer.

As we went on, 10 burpees seemed to take longer and longer, so we cut it to 5 for a “lightning round,” but you do you. If you’re just one person trying to do this workout, you can use the list and just assign a number of reps to each exercise. Seems less fun though.
