“Not gonna lie,” he said echoing his teen kids, it was a little dark when the alarm sang its sad song this morning, and I was in the middle of a long, sprawling, confusing dream that was equal parts anxiety and aspiration.
In the park, where the Sufferers congregate to receive their punishments, the breeze was light, the temperature delightful, but sadly there was a class of local high school seniors gathering on the hill to watch the sunrise. This is something of a local tradition, and one I don’t hate, except that the kids are always loud, and it’s slightly embarrassing to exercise in front of them, like the passel of middle-aged try-hards we are.

- Prone Frank x 10 (Like a cross between a bicycle and a V-sit. Figure it out).
- Chest Fly x 10 (We use bands wrapped around a pole).
- Push Up x 10
- Squat x 10 (Weighted or not).
- Twisting Lunge x 10 (Weighted or not).
- Kettle Bell Swing x 10
- Break Dancer x 10
- Hanging Knee Up x 10
- Run – Sufferer’s Choice (Options ranged from a short jog, to an uphill/downhill half-mile).
